Shoe Cleaning: if you are looking for some ways to keep your glossy shoes nice, clean and fresh here are some simple tricks to achieve this.

Keeping your shoes shiny is not very hard with all the products that are on the market now but it is simply not enough to love your shoes and feel great in them. Nasty smell can settle in and ruin all the nice outlook of your favourite pair. All shoes need proper wash from time to time but unfortunately not all ot them can go in the washing machine. There are gentle fabrics and fabrics not suitable for machine washing or it is just leather or faux leather. In these cases just use some cold water and very soft clean sponge. First wash it gently and spray a very small amount of washing up liquid and then wipe it dry to extract all the dirt and smell. Never use warm or hot water because it could damage the glossy look of the leather or make the shoe shrink.

Small amount of detergent could make a shiny and clean look on its overall appearance as well.  And it is always best to wash your shoes on a bright, dry and sunny day, though you must never leave your shoes to dry in direct sunlight as they will shrink and white trainers or canvas shoes will turn yellowish. Never put your shoes in the tumble dryer as it will change the shape or cause the sole to separate from the upper part of the shoe. Avoid using any cleaning chemicals as they will only cause damage and not clean the dirt you wanted to. If there are tough stains or the shoes are really dirty you can use an old toothbrush and gently brush away the dirt with soap and   cold water. Always take off shoe laces so the air can get everywhere in the shoes and dry them. Shoe laces luckily can go in the washing machine and in the dryer.

Serious bad smell can be alleviated with a very small effort. All you need is to reserve half hour from your busy schedule. It’s not like you have to do this every day. It can be once a month. Or even once every two months if you make sure you don’t wear the same shoes every day and leave at least 48 hours before you wear them again. In this way there is sufficient time to dry properly and make the environment for germs not so friendly which will prevent them to breed and cause bad odour.
